Bob Dacey

This Wednesday 1 / 29th the Symposium guest will be our very own Bob Dacey.  Originally from Orlando, FL, after a brief stint in the Army, Bob earned a degree in Illustration from Art Center in California.  In the 70's and 80's Dacey was part of an international group of illustrators working out of Connecticut.  Some of Bob's clients were American Airlines, Kimberly Clark, Reader's Digest, and Boy's Life.  An illustrator of over 30 children's books, Dacey, merged his business with his wife Debra Bandelin, to form Bandelin-Dacey Studios.  Their first collaborative effort, Miriam's Cup, won a Silver Medal from the New York Society of Illustrators in 1998.  Bob also won a Gold Medal from the Society in Advertising.

For over 30 years Dacey has been a part of the Illustration faculty at Syracuse University.  It is the mark of what a great teacher Bob is that I've seen his presentation often and each time I learn something.  I'm proud to call Bob Dacey a colleague, a mentor, and a friend.

We are going to have a fun day!
